【摘要】:Themodulusanddampingofagivensoil,asmeasuredbytheresonant-columntechniquehereindescribed,dependuponthestrainamplitudeofvibration,theambientstateofeffectivestress,andthevoidratioofthesoil,temperature,time,etc.Sincetheapplicationandcontroloftheambientstressesandthevoidratioarenotprescribedinthesemethods,theapplicabilityoftheresultstofieldconditionswilldependonthedegreetowhichtheapplicationandcontroloftheambientstressesandthevoidratio,aswellasotherparameterssuchassoilstructure,duplicatefieldconditions.Thetechniquesusedtosimulatefieldconditionsdependonmanyfactorsanditisuptotheengineertodecideonwhichtechniquesapplytoagivensituationandsoiltype.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofshearmodulus,sheardamping,rodmodulus(commonlyreferredtoasYoung''smodulus),androddampingforsolidcylindricalspecimensofsoilintheundisturbedandremoldedconditionsbyvibrationusingtheresonantcolumn.Thevibrationofthespecimenmaybesuperposedonacontrolledambientstateofstressinthespecimen.Thevibrationapparatusandspecimenmaybeenclosedinatriaxialchamberandsubjectedtoanall-aroundpressureandaxialload.Inaddition,thespecimenmaybesubjectedtoothercontrolledconditions(forexample,pore-waterpressure,degreeofsaturation,temperature).Thesetestmethodsofmodulusanddampingdeterminationareconsiderednondestructivewhenthestrainamplitudesofvibrationarelessthan104rad(104in./in.),andmanymeasurementsmaybemadeonthesamespecimenandwithvariousstatesofambientstress.1.2Thesetestmethodscoveronlythedeterminationofthemodulusanddamping,thenecessaryvibration,andspecimenpreparationproceduresrelatedtothevibration,etc.,anddonotcovertheapplication,measurement,orcontroloftheambientstress.Thelatterproceduresmaybecoveredby,butarenotlimitedto,TestMethodsD2166orD2850.1.3AllrecordedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguideforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.3.1Theproceduresusedtospecifyhowdataarecollected/recordedandcalculatedinthisstandardareregardedastheindustrystandard.Inaddition,theyarerepresentativeofthesignificantdigitsthatshouldgenerallyberetained.Theproceduresuseddonotconsidermaterialvariation,purposeforobtainingthedata,specialpurposestudies,oranyconsiderationsfortheusersobjectives;anditiscommonpracticetoincreaseorreducesignificantdigitsofreporteddatatobecommensuratewiththeseconsiderations.Itisbeyondthescopeofthisstandardtoconsidersignificantdigitsusedinanalysismethodsforengineeringdesign.1.3.2Measurementsmadetomoresignificantdigitsorbettersensitivitythanspecifiedinthisstandardshallnotberegardedanonconformancewiththisstandard.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ReportingtestresultsinunitsotherthanSIshallberegardedasconformancewiththesetestmethods.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
