【摘要】:Designcalculationsforradiofrequency(RF),microwaveandmillimetre-wavecomponentsrequiretheknowledgeofvaluesofcomplexpermittivityandpermeabilityatoperatingfrequencies.Thistestmethodisusefulforevaluatingsmallexperimentalbatchorcontinuousproductionmaterialsusedinelectromagneticapplications.Usethismethodtodeterminecomplexpermittivityonly(innon-magneticmaterials)orbothcomplexpermittivityandpermeabilitysimultaneously.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingrelativecomplexpermittivity(relativedielectricconstantandloss)andrelativemagneticpermeabilityofisotropic,reciprocal(non-gyromagnetic)solidmaterials.Ifthematerialisnonmagnetic,itisacceptabletousethisproceduretomeasurepermittivityonly.1.2Thismeasurementmethodisvalidoverafrequencyrangeofapproximately1MHztoover20GHz.Theselimitsarenotexactanddependonthesizeofthespecimen,thesizeofcoaxialairlineusedasaspecimenholder,andontheapplicablefrequencyrangeofthenetworkanalyzerusedtomakemeasurements.Thepracticallowerandupperfrequenciesarelimitedbyspecimendimensionrequirements(large,thickspecimensatlowfrequenciesandsmallspecimensathighfrequencies).Foragivenairlinesize,theupperfrequencyisalsolimitedbytheonsetofhigherordermodesthatinvalidatethedominant-modetransmissionlinemodelandthelowerfrequencyislimitedbythesmallestmeasurablephaseshiftthroughaspecimen.Beinganon-resonantmethod,theselectionofanynumberofdiscretemeasurementfrequenciesinameasurementbandwouldbesuitable.Thecoaxialfixtureispreferredoverrectangularwaveguidefixtureswhenbroadbanddataaredesiredwithasinglesampleorwhenonlysmallsamplevolumesareavailable,particularlyforlowerfrequencymeasurements1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.Theequationsshownhereassumeane+jx03C9;tharmonictimeconvention.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
